I still have a few lining and finishings to sew.<br />
<br />
Yesterday I tried it on and it just didn't seem right. It hit me in kind of a weird spot, and make me look more stocky than normal. If it was already too short, it would be even worse when I hemmed it. I spent awhile trying to figure out how to lengthen and pattern match it so it didn't look like a mistake.<br />
<br />
I quickly realized that if I put on a ruffle, it would a) be easier than trying to pattern match and hide seams, and b)just look way better than any other option.<br />
<br />
So I got to work.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/578443_4391592439100_102540420_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/578443_4391592439100_102540420_n.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So much more flattering right? Totally evens out my line backer shoulders a bit better. I mean lets ignore the fact that I didn't have enough fabric to even keep the pattern doing the right way, but I don't think it matters. It's busy enough I don't think many people will notice, and it's just a little summer dress anyway. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I still need to under stitch my lining, finish my interior seams, add the back buttons and maybe put in a waist stay. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I did have a bit of a zipper malfunction So I tried sewing an invisible zipper with my machine's zipper foot instead of the correct invisible zipper foot. I hate to admit it's because I was too lazy to go downstairs to look for it, but that was really the case. So my invisible zipper is very visible. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8101/8554761502_a5a344634b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8101/8554761502_a5a344634b.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I'm REALLY don't want to pink the entire zipper, but it looks like I might. I think I should have a huge poster in my house that says, "Just do it right the first time." because I swear it'll be my downfall.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I \got kind of confused when I was sewing in the lining. What on earth I was supposed to do with the straps? So here's how you sandwich them in case anyone else has the same issue. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8511/8548692572_d32a90ce9f_c.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8511/8548692572_d32a90ce9f_c.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So you lay your outer bodice right side up, and fold you basted straps down so that everything lays flat and all the right sides are touching. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8515/8547594417_90b3fa75fd_c.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8515/8547594417_90b3fa75fd_c.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Then you pin your lining on top of that, right side down. You need to be extra careful not to sew the strap into the seams with this method, but it looks really good when you do it right. I added extra pins just to keep the strap still. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I should be all done with nice non iPhone photos of the finished product this weekend. I forgot how much I liked to sew! It's a good thing too, because I'm on a bit or a spending freeze in preparation for two upcoming vacations to LA and PR. So this is the only way I'll be getting any new clothes, but I'm okay with that. I have a huge pattern and fabric stash, so it's about time I put it to good use! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<i><b><br /></b></i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<i>Wet N Wild, as you all know, is one of my favorite cheap makeup brands. They're 8 pan color icon palettes are always amazing. Super pigmented, and under five dollars. You really can't go wrong. I heard about the new limited addition palettes, "Going In The Wild" and "Nude Awakening" awhile ago online, but they finally just hit my local Meijer. The following Review is for "Going In The Wild".</i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_9qKR8akE87f7dIcHs-JeTOPBmYOqugWw-DnxR-vHt-oPWgY2QXh9WCgvcHYfY8ZOJhyphenhyphenmXVPszEH7KuvAem2GEQIFjz7wBB0leH2se9Ta9LD4-SKkXV6S7I8AXRLf2ZLOGTORpEKTLzk/s1600/DSC_0091.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="424" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_9qKR8akE87f7dIcHs-JeTOPBmYOqugWw-DnxR-vHt-oPWgY2QXh9WCgvcHYfY8ZOJhyphenhyphenmXVPszEH7KuvAem2GEQIFjz7wBB0leH2se9Ta9LD4-SKkXV6S7I8AXRLf2ZLOGTORpEKTLzk/s640/DSC_0091.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>

The packing is super cute in comparison to the regular eight pan case. This is white as opposed to the normal black palettes. With fun white spring flowers. It comes with a pretty worthless applicator, that I never use. Once you start using decent makeup brushes, you can't help but realize how awkward it is to use the tiny applicator most drugstore eye shadows come with.<br />
<br />
As far as the formula goes, it's pretty on par with the rest of the eight pan collections. Mostly Pigmented (although I would say a little bit less than a normal palette), easily bendable, if a bit powdery. These, like most eye shadows, work best with a primer.* You do have to build up certain colors, the light purple is kind of sheer for my liking. The mint color on the other hand is one of the most pigmented ones in the group.<br />
<br />
I tried to find lighting for the swatches that would be as true to color as possible. Harder than it sounds.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8381/8547603463_dcd340af16_c.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="207" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8381/8547603463_dcd340af16_c.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
As You can see, the primer really picked up more of the pigment and glitter than without. The brow bone colors are basically sheer, which while practical, was kind of disappointing. I rarely apply the eye shadows as they prescribe. I was hoping the right side brow bone color would be a way more pigmented than it was. In fact, I feel like this palette is over all kind of less pigmented than the normal collection. It might be intentional though. When people think spring, they think lighter. For under five dollars though, it's a good purchase overall.<br />
<br />
It doesn't look bad paired with the rest of the colors on the right side though. Here I applied them as the company intended. (Right Side Colors)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhistca1Bmzc8xfH4gYp4lRna-LUlihvL2FYvvSDQA20rLIlUd3keGLgGSS0IvdYnqbyrECLlL_OCvk6q4UDNmometeDzcxoSw-vfwAQVf04YYITcKRjtJygaYG72XyA6N2rZ9Wpwbd_So/s1600/GOINGINTHEWILD.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhistca1Bmzc8xfH4gYp4lRna-LUlihvL2FYvvSDQA20rLIlUd3keGLgGSS0IvdYnqbyrECLlL_OCvk6q4UDNmometeDzcxoSw-vfwAQVf04YYITcKRjtJygaYG72XyA6N2rZ9Wpwbd_So/s640/GOINGINTHEWILD.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Wearable and pretty springy! I did try out the left side purples yesterday as well, and I think I might like that look better, I'll post some photos tonight. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>Have you seen these popping up anywhere? What do you think? </b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>I also have the Nude Awakening palette which seems to be an attempt of a dupe of the UD Naked palette. Should I review it? </b></div>
<br />
<i>*I've been using Urban Decay's primer potion since I started using primers. Wet n' Wild released their own version recently which I tried. While the primer feels a bit strange when applied (much more oily than UD), I think it might work better than UD in my situation. I have very oily eyelids as the day goes on, and had no creasing at all! In fact I was painting and had to take a shower in the middle of the day to get paint out of my hair. I tried my best not to get my face wet, but it was still pretty steamy. My eye shadow looked great when I got out, I was really surprised. I will say you need to give the WNW primer a bit of time to set before you apply anything to it. But overall it worked great. At less than 1/3 the price of the primer I normally use, I'm willing to make the switch. </i><br />

So we didn't get a crazy amount of snow this week, about five inches. Still enough to put everyone in a funk. Spring feels very overdue right now. I did mange to get some of my lesser fun house things done though. Like switching out a pretty heinous ceiling fan, for something a bit more simple.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<a href="https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/481815_4356366278468_1312055937_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a><a href="https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/481815_4356366278468_1312055937_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/481815_4356366278468_1312055937_n.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
This was my first electrical project ever. I figured since I did my first plumbing project ever last week, it would be a good follow up. Changing a light is super easy. It will more than likely be even easier for you than me. I had a bit of older wiring to finagle with, but nothing I couldn't handle.<br />
<br />
PS: If you're wondering, it's the <a href="http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/70216351/" target="_blank">Minut </a>down light bought from IKEA. It throws off a pretty bright light which is nice since it's so gloomy outside. Just make sure you turn the power off! I find myself turning off the whole house just for piece of mind.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8242/8538632783_6cfaf533c9.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8242/8538632783_6cfaf533c9.jpg" width="300" /></a><a href="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8233/8539738386_8818690923.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8233/8539738386_8818690923.jpg" width="300" /></a> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I painted the trim in the dining room, which was in dire need of repainting. The pink on the wall is one of the rejects from our paint selections. I really like it, but I think it reads to baby pink for the look were going for. It's Valspar's Pink Ribbon.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
For those of you wondering about the second picture. Yes, I bought a Christmas tree in March. This is really the time to buy one though, they're on super sale. Won't the white look good next year next to the Archer Avenue pink? The only reason I set it up (no fluffing mind you) is because it's pre-lit, and I wanted to make sure everything worked and was on the up and up.</div>
<br />
It's supposed to be not horrible weather wise out this weekend, so maybe that'll perk everyone up. I plan on spending a good part of my weekend prepping the front room walls for painting. Which is the worst, most boring job in all of home improvement. If you don't do it though, your walls are going to look horrible.<br />
I'd like to get a good deal done on the dress I'm sewing as well. I predict a bit of a shut in weekend for myself.<br />
<br />
I hope your plans are much more exciting than mine!Paige Phttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12001775090885129397noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2674389635195672526.post-52989622817898416822013-03-06T10:42:00.002-05:002013-03-06T10:42:22.806-05:00On The Sewing Table : M6560 So, I still sew, I just haven't recently. So when better to decide to sew a very springy dress than we were in the middle of the biggest snow storm of the year? Obviously there's some serious wishful thinking happening on my part. Anywho, I'll be sewing McCalls' 6560, and here she is.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://mccallpattern.mccall.com/filebin/images/product_images/Full/M6560.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://mccallpattern.mccall.com/filebin/images/product_images/Full/M6560.jpg" width="303" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJ4s1WecjAZUT3UYBC53Hj42gZ8TsumgVZ-rIeFuk7M_fMwUFTF3nPqDSUPayh105qVUenWkozjkYnLWhuZKs0VT9_9-sAzHcb8WQJXPACscNbkkaSwkv02x_f3n3e5p0MbCWyfAW_dTwe/s320/M6560.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJ4s1WecjAZUT3UYBC53Hj42gZ8TsumgVZ-rIeFuk7M_fMwUFTF3nPqDSUPayh105qVUenWkozjkYnLWhuZKs0VT9_9-sAzHcb8WQJXPACscNbkkaSwkv02x_f3n3e5p0MbCWyfAW_dTwe/s320/M6560.jpg" /></a> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I'm trying to work through both my pattern and fabric stash. No new patterns until I sew at least a few I already have. I brought this one at least a year ago, so it's about time. I also had some fabric that had no plans to be made into anything, until now. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.valoriwells.com/images/designs/Jenaveve%20New/FloralBirdsMerlotD.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://www.valoriwells.com/images/designs/Jenaveve%20New/FloralBirdsMerlotD.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Pretty right? It's Valori Wells, Floral Birds in the Merlot color. This fabric feels great, it's a linen cotton blend, and something normally that would be way to expensive for me to even think about. I picked it up at a sale my local indie fabric store had awhile ago, so I scored big time. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I'm actually pretty excited to fit everything onto my new me size mannequin. Then again, I'm a pretty big sewing nerd. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLTsg5DhJgGk1AQTmPTu_Xes5oQUwdP4X8EQVHTbFtV1hYZQd-nFdRoxfalOi7r4Bqg-A8wVE3bLesN2VAhuiZGaIqsVENYMekC05KaIL5GnaU9mBfMwHDVb1I5ScejyWNGUQ-kd-DkIA/s1600/paint+colors.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="333" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLTsg5DhJgGk1AQTmPTu_Xes5oQUwdP4X8EQVHTbFtV1hYZQd-nFdRoxfalOi7r4Bqg-A8wVE3bLesN2VAhuiZGaIqsVENYMekC05KaIL5GnaU9mBfMwHDVb1I5ScejyWNGUQ-kd-DkIA/s640/paint+colors.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Sometimes I forget to take a step back and look at things as a whole. I think doing that though is especially important in small houses like mine. I've always tended to go a bit crazy when it comes to color, but bright and bold walls always made me feel good. With the coming soon paint color so different than anything I've used before, I though it might be a good idea to see all the colors in my home as a whole. Surprisingly the pink plays very well with the other colors I've already chosen. I'm even more excited now!<br />
<br />
Since I've now got my official whole house color scheme, I'd like to start using the paint colors from one room as the accessory colors in the others. I think that will make it feel a bit more cohesive.<br />
<br />
For example I've got plans to make some golden yellow curtains for the living room, to bring in the kitchen colors. Or maybe a minty colored table cloth in the dining room. How about some pink bedding? You get the drift.<br />
<br />
I do wish I had the money to put down one type of flooring throughout the house. I'm dreaming of wide white farm house planks. That is pretty far off in the future though realistically.<br />
<br />
Do you look at the big picture when you're remolding, or are you more of a go with the flow kind of person?<br />

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGzbqNlOPJ-8pjhSpxvMRiEIqRZsRI4GhemIe55mdSJjp1ep53WrEq0Na5ozQ8rTaMYrLgaikqZ5lJW1EwS0xC2CRNdr5h5chIzFoKz1ebnuf6_4CZvgXs7n2GvMbBOzjpRJHCG_0CeRo/s1600/tumblr_m9dhacf1WT1qarj90o1_1280.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGzbqNlOPJ-8pjhSpxvMRiEIqRZsRI4GhemIe55mdSJjp1ep53WrEq0Na5ozQ8rTaMYrLgaikqZ5lJW1EwS0xC2CRNdr5h5chIzFoKz1ebnuf6_4CZvgXs7n2GvMbBOzjpRJHCG_0CeRo/s640/tumblr_m9dhacf1WT1qarj90o1_1280.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Wes Anderson always has the best interiors in cinema. They're beautiful, story book like, even if everything feels a bit "off". One of my favorites has always been the Tenenbaum house. My favorite room in all of 111 Archer Avenue has to be the pink 4th floor ballroom.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwAPwT-bmXI_qpccQujmz8Vqs7McHnfHhl6V5n7CVmjV3kMRkiEWHdU8Q11bryZ098HHMzoyda7ilKbVUu_-BGBW3Od-t_KuiHYrzarY7N3kRY6RlZBAwvNMFaEgm_dpxaR4qB2gOJ3C0/s1600/Untitled-211.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="268" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwAPwT-bmXI_qpccQujmz8Vqs7McHnfHhl6V5n7CVmjV3kMRkiEWHdU8Q11bryZ098HHMzoyda7ilKbVUu_-BGBW3Od-t_KuiHYrzarY7N3kRY6RlZBAwvNMFaEgm_dpxaR4qB2gOJ3C0/s640/Untitled-211.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
It's perfect. I can't help but love it. I've always been a huge fan of pink. I remember when my mother let me pick the paint color of my room for the first time. I picked the brightest most pepto bismol pink I could find.<br />
<br />
"Are you sure?" She said barely trying to hide her disappointment.<br />
<br />
It wasn't even a question, it was perfect.<br />
<br />
When it came time to repaint our two front rooms, dining and living respectably, I don't think it was a coincidence that we happened to be re watching The Royal Tenenbaums. I leaned over to Brian and asked,<br />
<b><br /></b>
<b>"What if I painted the rooms pink?"</b><br />
<br />
He was quiet for a second, but said, "If you can make it the Tennebaum pink, we've got a a deal."<br />
<br />
My mission was set, after numerous samples of my favorite paint, I think I've finally settled on the perfect color.<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Meet Valspar's Hibiscus Pink. It reads a bit less blue in the house than it does on the screen. It looks so perfect next to the freshly painted white trim. I'm excited to see both rooms once they're done! I've got a few other projects to tackle first, but this is one of the more exciting ones. Even if I actually hate painting. </div>

Recently I've been taking Gertie's online bombshell dress course. It involves a lot of fitting, and she does most of it on a dress form. For those of you that sew, you know fitting or draping a garment on yourself is very hard, if not damn near impossible. So I did what many people do, and made a duct tape dress form.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="424" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFLrzSMKo58xWcganAnDxYo2H6O10WXz6fcD84vEAVAj17KapITixjxEJBzPAOF6-JCzVxOKZ9o4a5hKqU8AFm4JKUcgTtLpcpsPffQNAGQPBAYnnGVXV5pZaBEQ0qPwbd37RJBNqPnMA/s640/DSC_0072.jpg" width="640" /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
While not the most flattering thing to look at, it's very true to my actually shape. I'm not going to give you a tutorial on how to make one though, the web is already over flowing with those. This is going to show you a quickly make a jersey slipcover to make the look of the dress form a bit more professional. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<i>Note: If you're interested in my stand, I actually slipped my duct tape form over a vintage form I had, and stuffed around it using fabric scraps and newspaper. </i></div>
<i><div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
</i><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
You'll need</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
-Serger/Sewing Machine </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<i>I'm using a serger because it trims and has a better stitch for jersey. If you're using your sewing machine you'll need to use a zig zag stitch and trim all your seam allowances. </i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
-1 yard of jersey, either 2 way stretch of 4 way. I used two way stretch, although 4 might have been better. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
-Duct Tape to finish the bottom</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
-Lots of Pins </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
-Scissors</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Take your yard of fabric and cut in half on the fold. Start pinning around your form. If your using 2 way stretch fabric, make sure the stretchy side is running horizontal, so it stretches out wide ways instead of tall ways.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhevfslONGahSZPWsWqNsBZt1m5J-Ykx1pHMjhUQBoLX05KlGkhQqIuXgLeCx5W93_51l7jHNABo-GtAXe2QQbMreT51ArVlsKSw7s7R9wZ15d4sOYXmfyGmkvbufabrQp8wHWu_D-9QwE/s640/DSC_0073.jpg" width="424" /></span></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Leave the bottom and neck hole unpinned. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQ34-2knVlVUMjh1y82oPSkgKDwEi5XJHbmZZdNFH7KaAfVz7dPtA2Od5NSurklxk5L-YeZ2XTF7PRtD72jPrp8ffANNsCtd_oHSR4jG7QltEpspoydwReJJRqoKA2NWyRmo-RRFgofR4/s640/DSC_0074.jpg" width="424" /></span></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Trim all the excess fabric around your form, this will be your guide for where to sew.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><img border="0" height="550" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjE-iw74HjGTA6Z1NZTQc3mCLWBW0sXEjUm7ZHLMA-ICDzofYE7B1qVJd0Ney51NLH3AjKEmtOxIvBPMknfLAqtJzgzgwad8LPUc-03oxhVeVMgHwnAJa2mcNZB3IFMtSrl_Q1-rI2y3Y0/s640/DSC_0075.jpg" width="640" /></span><span style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><br /></span><span style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><br /></span><span style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I then used my serger to serge up the matched sides. Make sure to leave the neck hole and bottom open. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Flip inside out so the seams are on the inside of the cover. Slide over your dress form. I used a scrap of the jersey to pretty up the unfinished neck opening with a bow. I also taped the bottom of the jersey using black duct tape. You can't see it unless your laying on the floor, so I wasn't too concerned with how the bottom looked. You could also make the cover longer and sew a draw string in if you're really concerned with how finished it looks. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="454" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6btMFGvLschv4BF_QcRW-twMT_wpjRu9HQs67vlKZtbuNbQj3NfQcxe0BvPnRZti0RV5crnHl8xvtk5JwYs0l444erNXfClXGuA22_Pyaw7dbrWfsEg1ccd0vT8clC68-KAnISmUV68A/s640/DSC_0079.jpg" width="640" /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Over all though I think it looks much better! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="424" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnqN_LqAfK-8vmkN1M7_uQQpOIOqrul3S2138UMkup5pzurgjzA5lqB_ueF-BV9nzdqHwInferqnrc1ezf8wz3-V6A8i9SWIBGx0OPlfE93qcou-39Aj9zn9Si1eX7jabDXyFtb1-_hkA/s640/DSC_0080.jpg" width="640" /></span></div>

How about some blue eye shadow Now I know for a lot of people, when you talk about blue, you get a few images in your head.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.brebeauty.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/mimi.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://www.brebeauty.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/mimi.jpeg" width="300" /></a><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EuvjEO7whu8/TwUGMLKU90I/AAAAAAAAAG0/M25GrpKbCLw/s1600/blue-eyeshadow1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; display: inline !important; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EuvjEO7whu8/TwUGMLKU90I/AAAAAAAAAG0/M25GrpKbCLw/s400/blue-eyeshadow1.jpg" width="290" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
First I automatically think of Mimi and her really garish, unblended, to the brow shocking blue. The second thing I think of is really frosty, still to the brow, 1970's blue. Always accompanied by feathered blonde hair. Both of these looks are really dated and unwearable. Well I mean more power to you if this is your thing, but I'm not sure if it would fly so well at my office. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I decided to try and tackle a blue that was wearable. I've seen a lot of palettes popping up with fresh bright spring colors. Seeing as it's really horrible here in the Midwest this week, I figured something that called to spring would help perk up my mood a bit. Here's what I came up with. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxTHydBM_9oVkXVrR1wIt0z1uIHHvNpi1LAyY5l2KxG-P1LQ1e0SKBRanC9mQNvMnkM4CpaQPs3lRXcYUc_7huNU9vEE0WZJB7gsXKQdSzqrs6-qVC6xiSAhXCR-9IsyNTTDhYdap1A-I/s1600/MAKEUP.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="604" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxTHydBM_9oVkXVrR1wIt0z1uIHHvNpi1LAyY5l2KxG-P1LQ1e0SKBRanC9mQNvMnkM4CpaQPs3lRXcYUc_7huNU9vEE0WZJB7gsXKQdSzqrs6-qVC6xiSAhXCR-9IsyNTTDhYdap1A-I/s640/MAKEUP.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I kept it far away from my brow bone, and because I have quite hooded eyes, I brought the blue down around my tear ducts and the bottom lash line. My when catch me looking down, or you know just "casually" fluttering my eye lids, you get a fun wash of color. The colors are from the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette, and the Wet N Wild "Blue had me at hello" palette (See the card for placement).</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I kept the liner on the top lids subtle using a light hand and a pencil liner, using a brush to blend it out into a faint cat eye. I defined my brows and added mascara to curled lashes. For my lips I used Revlon Color burst lipstick in "hazelnut".</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">

<div style="text-align: left;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
I know I've mentioned my sewing pattern <strike>hoard</strike> collection before. I own a lot. Probably too many.</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
I'd say my collection is about half vintage, and half modern.</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
I just had them stuffed in a box haphazardly for a long time, which made it hard to find anything. Also it wasn't doing any favors for my delicate paper patterns. (I have some dating back to the 20's!). So I decided to do something about it.</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
I got an idea from the most unlikely of places, my nerdy boyfriend Brian.</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/526517_880090919090_1334829578_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/526517_880090919090_1334829578_n.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Isn't he handsome? PS this is totally at epcot, excuse the hat. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Brian <strike>likes</strike> LOVES comics. In fact, I'm pretty sure the only reason we bought our house is because he could walk to the comic store from it. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Who loves and wants to protect paper more than sewing pattern hoarders? </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
COMIC BOOK NERDS.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
In fact they have very specific products to protect and preserve their comics. I guess I just lucked out that my paper product was similar in size to theirs. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here's what you'll need. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/4152tcxvDXL._SX385_.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="221" src="http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/4152tcxvDXL._SX385_.jpg" width="320" /></a>\</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.amazon.com/Golden-Comic-Backer-Boards-Count/dp/B002F4I32Q" target="_blank">Backer Boards & Bags</a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/315xQUlat2L.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/315xQUlat2L.jpg" /></a> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.amazon.com/BCW-Long-Comic-Book-Storage/dp/B000K41EBU/ref=pd_sim_sg_16" target="_blank">Long Boxes</a> (I mean you could use the shorts, but my collection barely fits into the two long ones.)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I of course purchased these at my local comic book shop, any comic book shop should carry these supplies. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used the backing boards to stabilize my extra delicate vintage patterns. You can use them on the modern ones or not, it's up to you. You then put the pattern with or without the backing board into the bag and seal with a piece of acid free tape. The bags and boards are already acid free, which is awesome. You should end up with something like this. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: left;">
If you've been on pinterest before, I'm sure you've seen the two egg and one banana pancake recipe. It's intriguing to me because one, all the ingredients are Paleo, and two, it seems super easy. </div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
Here's my variation, which involves a bit more than the two original ingredients. </div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg613nD61KFWFnXP8QbJ_dVKfsEOcI_z_5QgUJGxzMdqUIsFQmH7aenCYtysM8mHpw-Z2inLGgdQkTmdn_ZQlGe046CUk1aE5axEPbmIrXMLiOL7DHYJy7_dfCRnzwrFbwN3aASt7J6Qd0/s1600/paleopankcakes.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg613nD61KFWFnXP8QbJ_dVKfsEOcI_z_5QgUJGxzMdqUIsFQmH7aenCYtysM8mHpw-Z2inLGgdQkTmdn_ZQlGe046CUk1aE5axEPbmIrXMLiOL7DHYJy7_dfCRnzwrFbwN3aASt7J6Qd0/s640/paleopankcakes.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<h2 style="text-align: left;">
You'll need</h2>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
2 Bananas</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
4 eggs</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
1 tablespoon vanilla</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
1 teaspoon cinnamon</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
1 teaspoon salt</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
1 cup sliced strawberries</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
Coconut Oil</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
Maple Syrup for serving</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
Makes 8-10 small pancakes</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<h2 style="text-align: left;">
Directions</h2>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
I started by just putting my eggs in the blender and giving them a good whirl for maybe about 30 seconds. It think this helps keep the pancakes a bit more fluffy. </div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
Add the remaining ingredients (except the strawberries, coconut oil & maple).</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
Add strawberries and mix in by hand, don't blend them in. </div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
In a small skillet, over medium heat, heat up about a teaspoon of coconut oil. </div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
Add two tablespoons of batter and wait until pancake starts bubbling on top side before flipping. </div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
I found it easiest to use a bendable plastic spatula to flip these. </div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
Cook for about another thirty seconds on the other side.</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
Put the pancakes on serving plate, and continue until there's no remaining batter left. </div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
Serve immediately with lots of 100% real maple syrup.</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
While I, and Brian, think these are really delicious I don't think that you'll fool anyone into thinking these are fluffy gluten filled pancakes. The texture is probably more spot on with a thick crepe. </div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
I think my recipe is winner though, Brian's requested I make them two days in a row. </div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<span style="font-family: inherit;">Just got back from my San Francisco trip! I'm a little sun burnt, a little swollen, and a lot jet lagged. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">But hey, gotta keep on keeping on, am I right? </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">I got a kitchen cart that makes much more spacial sense than the gate leg table I had next to the fridge before.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><img height="640" src="https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-snc7/432181_3859309932370_1608387217_n.jpg" width="640" /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><img height="394" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXsZ3z1tmMnYgsRYXaOBztA1gj1PiQHmJnFHaXD5NXjXG9-46MKwGy72l7yBvC1MNKFczoGzC5zu0yAK4bkDB1So8zjsx_FgUnmh5YxdKA-JawwrORASoq9VGCM9N_6JFff1LcVBLBjmI/s640/photo+3.jpg" width="640" /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">See how far it sticks out in comparison to our fridge? That led to a lot of door banging and bruised hips. It did the job though, and was something I already owned. So being a bit impractical for that space was made up for by the fact it was "free". But since I had a bit of extra cash with my tax return that came in, I brought something that made much more sense. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br />
</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4dL22e4cAEGfIdo5C_2tGZRBIAmOtFmzoZh1hhcb2oM0UmWg3dzg51DgAy9qYQRoRfjzjcNqm0Q3RO2tXt5HMakGavKAFlKacdJGSmNC4xoqVKk9geK4bRCacyZq0IQdKFB4m_xaogzg/s1600/408486_4143690281701_1559743740_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><img border="0" height="618" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4dL22e4cAEGfIdo5C_2tGZRBIAmOtFmzoZh1hhcb2oM0UmWg3dzg51DgAy9qYQRoRfjzjcNqm0Q3RO2tXt5HMakGavKAFlKacdJGSmNC4xoqVKk9geK4bRCacyZq0IQdKFB4m_xaogzg/s640/408486_4143690281701_1559743740_n.jpg" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br />
</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">I love it, a lot. It's the </span><span style="background-color: white; font-family: inherit;"><a href="http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/80035920/" style="letter-spacing: -1px; line-height: 30px;" target="_blank">FÖRHÖJA</a> kitchen cart from none other than IKEA. It was kind of a pain in the butt to put together, but I really like the look</span><span style="font-family: inherit;"> of it.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"> Since it's against the wall instead of serving as an island, I might put some drawer stops on the back. Besides that though it's perfect. I can finally get my cook books out of the </span>cabinets<span style="font-family: inherit;"> too! I often forget I have them when they're sight unseen. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">PS: I still love the new tiny fridge! I haven't had any issues with food fitting or the fridge being too small. It's just laid out really perfectly. I cannot </span>recommend<span style="font-family: inherit;"> it enough! </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Guys, I love candy. I've always had this killer sweet tooth. I blame my mother, she's way worse than me. (love you mumsy!)<br />
<br />
Valentines day is an awesome time for candy, weather it's from someone else or you "treat yo self".<br />
<br />
Being Paleo though can be kind of a buzz kill. Leave it to me to find a sneaky way around it for this delicious treat.<br />
<br />
1/2 cup melted coconut oil<br />
1/2 cup 100% dark cocoa powder<br />
1/2 cup almond butter<br />
1/4 cup maple syrup<br />
1 teaspoon vanilla<br />
Candy Mold/Shaped Ice Cube tray<br />
<br />
Start by melting your coconut oil, I just pop the whole container in the microwave for 30 seconds and pour out what I need.<br />
<br />
Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl. Stir until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.<br />
<br />
Fill molds and set in freezer. You might want to lightly mist with some olive oil or non stick to help you remove them later. I picked up two heart shaped ice cube trays at the target dollar spot. You could use any mold or ice cube tray that you have. When I make this paleo chocolate for an everyday sweet tooth killer, I just half fill my silicone muffin liners.<br />
<br />
Let set until completely firm, which takes about a 1/2 hour. I then remove them from the molds, and keep them in a freezer bag. Because they rely on coconut oil, I would at least keep them in the fridge (freezer is better) so they stay solid. That's if you don't eat them all right away.<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So I've got a little weekend trip to San Francisco this weekend. I get kind of obsessive about packing. I try to only pack in my carry on, and still have room for a few souvenirs. I'll only be gone for four days, but I like having options. So I try and pack things I can mix and match, a capsule wardrobe if you will.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Bring major pieces in neutrals. Something that can be worn easily with other colors and prints. Jersey is your best friend. It rolls tightly, is easy to wear, and is pretty wrinkle proof. I love the jersey knit pencil skirts Old Navy is currently Carrying. I'm packing one in black, and one in a black and white stripe. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Skip the jeans, bring the jeggings. They're ten times more comfortable, and take up way less space when you pack.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
A jersey black dress (any neutral will do).</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
A pair of good quality black tights, the kind with an extra high waist won't roll down and will be comfortable all day.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
A brightly colored sweater for a pop of color.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
One neutral colored and one brightly colored (contrasting or complimenting the sweater). I wear them mostly as scarves but it's nice to be able to throw something over your shoulders if you get cold. Also they can make a good beach cover up if weather permits swimming (or if your hotel has an indoor pool!). Mostly I like them to jazz up what can be a really basic outfit.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
A cardigan (for chilly mornings and nights).</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Always remember your sunglasses (and prescription if your visually impaired like I am). </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Two pairs of shoes, one comfy pair of flats that slip on and off easily (for air-port screenings) and one pair of nice shoes for going out and looking hot. These can either be flats or heels. If you bring a heeled shoe though, make sure it's comfortable. I love my ankle booties. The thick heels make them easy to walk in! I will pick up a few gel inserts though before I leave, nothing ruins vacation more than blisters or sore feet.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Two pair of earrings. I always bring my pearls, and a cheap pair. The gold rose earrings are from forever 21, and I'm not afraid to lose them. I'll wear these on tours and walking around the city. While I'll save the pearls for a nice dinner or another special occasion on the trip.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here are just a few examples of what you can pull together with my16 items. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.polyvore.com/remixed/set?.embedder=4312377&.svc=copypaste&id=72138072" target="_blank"><img alt="remixed" border="0" height="393" src="http://cfc.polyvoreimg.com/cgi/img-set/.sig/8fzSgd1krfX5wFbdNhuuHw/cid/72138072/id/XBhV8uGLTcm4q9038jHCrA/size/c750x461.jpg" title="remixed" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I save space by rolling things together. Like I would roll my skirts into one roll. Laying them together on top of one another and rolling them like a sleeping bag. Things don't wrinkle as much this way either!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Whats your go to packing list? Anything in San Francisco I shouldn't miss?</b></div>
</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuInD2knaRsGi-Ksj_kJCsMdRDX081SJN-w3GVGtq1yXQFdg_WG4T8Abn212wQ8yaxOmuzw7TFo5pn8vB-Pgb13ukV68BFTQTzjPGgAs03mMAGvA8ZBh1PZLCBfTSR_VKSxv1kvnAfidQ/s1600/DSC_0061.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuInD2knaRsGi-Ksj_kJCsMdRDX081SJN-w3GVGtq1yXQFdg_WG4T8Abn212wQ8yaxOmuzw7TFo5pn8vB-Pgb13ukV68BFTQTzjPGgAs03mMAGvA8ZBh1PZLCBfTSR_VKSxv1kvnAfidQ/s640/DSC_0061.jpg" width="424" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I know <a href="http://mylife.luxperdiem.com/2013/01/the-bathroom-update.html" target="_blank">I just did a post on the bathroom,</a> but I've already made one major change. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
As you can tell from the picture above, it's a pretty small bathroom. Our sink, while pretty, was way too deep for this space. So much so that if one person was brushing their teeth, another person couldn't fit behind them. Since this is our only bathroom it can be an issue. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So when I got my tax return I decided to splurge a bit and buy a new sink. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Enter IKEA. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.ikea.com/us/en/images/products/lillangen-sink-cabinet-with--door__0129886_PE283996_S4.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://www.ikea.com/us/en/images/products/lillangen-sink-cabinet-with--door__0129886_PE283996_S4.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I purchased the Lillagen Sink for about 180 including faucet. The nice IKEA lady assured me I could do it without any prior plumbing experience. I liked this model, because it's small, and actually gives me a bit of under sink storage, which I really needed.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8112/8464060817_de29f8ba9c_c.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8112/8464060817_de29f8ba9c_c.jpg" width="300" /></a><a href="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8250/8464059873_a8f56b3757_c.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8250/8464059873_a8f56b3757_c.jpg" width="300" /></a> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
First step was to remove the sink. Here's something the IKEA directions won't tell you. This part is going to be gross. Make sure you have a bunch of old towels to sop up water from the P-Trap, and make sure you've got some paper towels to shove into the P-trap so that your whole house doesn't fill with really disgusting methane. Also cut the caulk around the sink really thoroughly I didn't cut deep enough on one side and tore through a couple layers of paint. It's just a pain in the butt to fix, save yourself the time. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8509/8465160114_c5376279c2_c.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8509/8465160114_c5376279c2_c.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Bonus Photo! This is how small were talking. Also, look at me, the lazy homeowner who still hasn't put a flooring transition in for the bathroom flooring. Probably because I just want to tear out the bathroom flooring anyways. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8521/8464063121_212c29a74b_b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8521/8464063121_212c29a74b_b.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Now you'll want to build your sink. For the smallest Lilliagen sink, I ended up with double the hardware I actually needed. I think it just saves time packaging to have the same hardware pouch for all the sizes. Still, it made me feel like I did something horribly wrong, but in the end it turned out fine. Don't stress! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8388/8465162536_95a12d5c02_c.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8388/8465162536_95a12d5c02_c.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Remember not to let your cat judge you too much during the building process. He gets excited about IKEA boxes, so his judgement should be taken lightly. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8233/8465163848_51f52f6bff_c.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8233/8465163848_51f52f6bff_c.jpg" width="300" /></a><a href="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8509/8465165044_2a00ef7c03_c.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8509/8465165044_2a00ef7c03_c.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
If you have larger moldings you're gonna have to chisel them out a bit to get the sink to sit flush. I just used a flat head and a hammer. There's probably a more exact and elegant solution to get this done, but we keep it real here at Lux Per Diem. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8097/8465166212_dcd3400ac9_c.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8097/8465166212_dcd3400ac9_c.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Anchor your sink cabinet into the wall. Fun fact, you probably want to measure and make sure this sink will fit over your water line knobs thingys (technical I know). Mine, probably by sheer will alone, just barely fit. You can see how close I'm cutting it by the right knob. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8229/8465167310_7723813899_c.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8229/8465167310_7723813899_c.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Lay some caulk down around the top of your sink cabinet and place the sink on top. You really only have like less than a minute to get that bad boy straight, so do your best. Mine's not perfect, but damn good anyways. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8526/8465170614_4340e6376c_c.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8526/8465170614_4340e6376c_c.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Follow the IKEA instructions as far as the plumbing goes. This is one of the few times I wish there were written instructions along with the pictograms. Making the IKEA PVC fit onto the PVC in my house involved lots of waterproof thread tape, and brute force. Also since the Faucet is off centered to the left, I need an extension piece (the piece with the tag still attached) to make it actually reach my supply line. After about three trips to Lowes, I actually ended up just bringing the whole faucet and finding the piece that fit the coupling. It might help had I actually asked a sales associate, but this is me when it comes to Lowes.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.blogger.com/"></a><span id="goog_162959888"></span><span id="goog_162959889"></span><br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lu2l4vBhQT1qcoy5vo1_500.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lu2l4vBhQT1qcoy5vo1_500.png" width="566" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Learn from my mistakes dear readers. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is what I ended up with two days later. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8246/8464074565_2c12753802_c.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8246/8464074565_2c12753802_c.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
See the shelf for the cabinet leaning again the toilet? Yeah that bad boy didn't fit at all around my P-trap. I probably did it wrong, but honestly I was so sick of plumbing I wasn't going to take it off. I ended up just tossing it. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I still need to repaint the walls where the old sink was. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I need a new litter box because this one doesn't fit with the new sink. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Just more to add to my to do list I suppose. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I like this sink much better! It's less deep, and two people can actually fit in the bathroom. I'll get a full room shot once I repaint, but given my track record with timely painting, it might take awhile.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Did you guys have a good weekend? </b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This week has been the snowiest of the year. Driving in it is a bit of a nightmare, but I survived. It's nothing compared to what the upper east coast is about to get hit with. I can't even imagine getting two feet of snow. Stay safe! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
My week mostly consisted of house projects, eating, and lounging. We also got a soda stream! So I made some blood orange spritzers, so delicious. I had some really awesome meatballs and fries (paleofail). Oh and my new favorite mug sent to me by an internet friend! It's amazing and so very me. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I'll be posting a bit more on the house projects I was telling you about this next week so keep your eyes peeled. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>How was your week? </b></div>

I love makeup. It's not something I talk about a whole lot on the blog. But since this is my very own space to discuss what I please, how about we talk amongst ourselves? </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://nbcprohockeytalk.files.wordpress.com/2012/01/talk-amongst-yourselves.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://nbcprohockeytalk.files.wordpress.com/2012/01/talk-amongst-yourselves.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I'm a drugstore makeup queen. I love trying new colors and new brands. I'm let down about as many times as I find a product I really like. I thought it would be interesting to have something of a throw-down between several brands of makeup that are similar colors or have similar promises. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
For the first ever makeup throw-down how about plum lipsticks? I actually didn't own any plums, but I have noticed that more and more companies are coming out with deep purples and mauve's. So I went to a few stores and picked up the ones that caught my eye. Yes I know there are many more brands and colors than what I have here. These colors were just the most available and appealing to me. I did pick up a few very light purples, but that's another post entirely. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Let's begin with the most expensive lipstick shall we? Coming in at 12$, this is the Sephora brand creme rouge in #23 crush. The color is awesome, which makes me really sad that the formula is so so horrible. It's waxy, and even though it photographed a bit better, didn't apply evenly (Can you see that patch on my bottom lip?!). The color stuck to my lips in patches. I've heard people also use this lipstick as a stain. You would really have to work it into your lips for that though, I tore up mine as it was just trying to apply it regularly. This is definitely a loser. I noticed that this is no longer carried online. I wonder if they're reformulating their lipsticks? </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhz1nqY24CpxA5DbhH0IiWc8A_PIA4L72ogHJ4TVSOoLSmFYGl4ZTvjN-WR-xaeAZdu1UeDQPbZwOXDFBUF4lV6iQ2-jmLYlyCKkcRXmL0GAeEhiolYJNjBMgcqT2reFnVHUfju008X7Lw/s1600/flash.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhz1nqY24CpxA5DbhH0IiWc8A_PIA4L72ogHJ4TVSOoLSmFYGl4ZTvjN-WR-xaeAZdu1UeDQPbZwOXDFBUF4lV6iQ2-jmLYlyCKkcRXmL0GAeEhiolYJNjBMgcqT2reFnVHUfju008X7Lw/s640/flash.jpg" width="568" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Next up we've got the Milani Lip Flash Pencil in "In a Flash". This as you can see is crazy bright. It's full of micro glitter as well, so it definitely catches the light and flashes. It was about 6$. I like the formula a lot, and there's definitely some fun novelty in Lip Pencils for me as well. It goes on a bit sheer, but is very build-able. It's one of the least wearable, most neon colors, of the group. I could see myself wearing it for a night out, but not so much the office. The only drawback I can see to this pencil, is how the hell I'm going to sharpen it. It's really chunky and doesn't fit in my regular sharpener. I didn't see any matching sharpeners at the drugstore where I purchased this though. I know I could probably find something at an art supply store, but that seems like poor planning on Milani's Part. Overall though I really like this pencil. It's not my favorite of the group, but very fun! </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjStGskJ5QKoHVMRzgt4UdAfYUl3nSGPAjBJcRjlbnAuCbkJt1qtzTZHRfE4VxijV38bgKYS7KPheZb1Ah-2lIdvGlAcoSRwiRx991AhFWeg59EZ3NQR78GoFqPwLabmT5e-EwpoJ2N6q8/s1600/embrace.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjStGskJ5QKoHVMRzgt4UdAfYUl3nSGPAjBJcRjlbnAuCbkJt1qtzTZHRfE4VxijV38bgKYS7KPheZb1Ah-2lIdvGlAcoSRwiRx991AhFWeg59EZ3NQR78GoFqPwLabmT5e-EwpoJ2N6q8/s640/embrace.jpg" width="568" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is Covergirl Lip Perfection in "Embrace", which was about 6$. I'm not really a Covergirl buyer at all. It was one of the first makeup brands I was allowed to wear, but I'm not a huge fan of the scent all their cosmetics seem to have. I actually really like this lipstick though. The formula is great! It's creamy and hydrating, and goes on very smoothly and evenly. It has a bit of a douchrome with blue undertones. It'll make your teeth look super white! This is one of my favorites. It's purple, sparkly, but still wearable. I like the new lipstick packaging as well, it feels much more "expensive" than the old CG lipsticks. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAD8sAcvHF4sLSrlKQ8blpB-Qqn5D9m79f1hcm0dr14ZkgnbPcWVWn6Sd2uZ29kFc7OinU6CWGj9NQZhZtszybAbrbXxN9Ehenpj2Gz8-NgMrm1pF-ZOAU02UnLclujKotKyFcDGa1KO8/s1600/mmauve.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAD8sAcvHF4sLSrlKQ8blpB-Qqn5D9m79f1hcm0dr14ZkgnbPcWVWn6Sd2uZ29kFc7OinU6CWGj9NQZhZtszybAbrbXxN9Ehenpj2Gz8-NgMrm1pF-ZOAU02UnLclujKotKyFcDGa1KO8/s640/mmauve.jpg" width="568" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here, for 5.50$, is Maybelline Color Sensational in "Magnificent Mauve". I love Maybelline's packaging. The lipstick itself is good as well. It is more of a pinky plum though, but really wearable. I feel like this would be flattering on a lot of skin tones because of the pink. The formula is smooth and build-able. Another Favorite. It didn't stand out to me as much as the one that I liked the best, but it's solid. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEht4JsN1rzWF37ch9KtdWm-sJoWA9-lhSzUz3FfMyR_4CqSBwqJC7qDpwazmvNjYww4k1hlex74zz7pA4hULhx_e8Cmc-GX2pmPEl0VjnOTRtZ42iwp_wx1Per358Bc3WbPTqd8usG6bQM/s1600/vinely.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEht4JsN1rzWF37ch9KtdWm-sJoWA9-lhSzUz3FfMyR_4CqSBwqJC7qDpwazmvNjYww4k1hlex74zz7pA4hULhx_e8Cmc-GX2pmPEl0VjnOTRtZ42iwp_wx1Per358Bc3WbPTqd8usG6bQM/s640/vinely.jpg" width="568" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I've got a big thing for WNW lipsticks, normally that is. However this lipstick, part of the Fergie Centerstage Collection, kind of blows. I know this is the only one that's bad though, as I own the rest of the collection. The color is D-Vinely Chilly lipstick for about 3.49$. The glitter, which is purple, is so obnoxiously gritty. I felt as if I was dragging sandpaper across my lips. The final result isn't horrible though. It's nice and deep, with good color payoff. I really just can't get past the texture when it's applied. It's giving me shivers just thinking about it. The packaging isn't great either. In the photo above the lipstick bullet is all the way retracted. It's a lipstick pet peeve of mine when I can't bring the lipstick all the way down the tube. I'm way to prone to knick the lipstick bullet when I replace the cap. It's kind of silly that it wouldn't be able to retract, it's almost twice as tall as the WNW megalast lipsticks, which do retract all the way. I don't think I would have brought this had I known about the texture though. That alone makes this a loser for me. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyTQgKEtMFps2PoZjl864EBYkiB3BDcBVhXxPj3ds_fAwW1eqH2XwUrdzmgUTgVD_gFnfHMM9whdMGTj2CfpB7Jv_94xh74QxoJSSZarFbwYGXSKtTdRJIhnhTc_82AcvqnjkWskambAY/s1600/wnwplumfairy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyTQgKEtMFps2PoZjl864EBYkiB3BDcBVhXxPj3ds_fAwW1eqH2XwUrdzmgUTgVD_gFnfHMM9whdMGTj2CfpB7Jv_94xh74QxoJSSZarFbwYGXSKtTdRJIhnhTc_82AcvqnjkWskambAY/s640/wnwplumfairy.jpg" width="568" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Last up here's WNW's Megalast Lipstick in "Sugar Plum Fairy" for 2.99$, which I've heard is a very good dupe for MAC's "Rebel". I absolutely love this line. The color payoff is amazing, and they really do last most of the day for me! This particular color is great. It's a very deep plum, which is something I can see myself wearing more. The formula is a bit drying, so make sure you prep your lips before with a moisturizer or lip primer. I find it helps if I start by working the lipstick in the center of the bottom lip to "warm" it up a bit. It's a matte lipstick also, which I love. WNW Megalast lipsticks are a great way to try shades, because there just so darn cheap. For the price it's completely worth it! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b><u>Winners and Losers</u></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Overall I think the worst lipstick was the Sephora Creme Rouge! Which is a bummer, because it's the most expensive, double what the other lipsticks cost. I hope that they're reformulating their lipsticks, although I don't think I'll give them another shot. I don't really feel like wasting 12 bucks. D-Vinely Chilly would have lost, but at least it was cheap. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The Winner of this throw-down was CoverGirl Lip Perfection in "Embrace"! It's just a beautiful shade, and an awesome formula! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Happy Funny Commercial Day America! Some of you might know it as the super bowl, but since I have little to no interest in Football, I'm in it for the food and the laughs. I needed a peleo app to bring with to a super bowl party/puppy playdate. It also had to be paleo, and I really didn't want to have to buy anything special. My B.A.T. Eggs were born. </div>

<b><u>You'll need:</u></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
-ten eggs</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
-cherry tomatos</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
-two slices bacon</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
-one ripe avocado </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
- 1/4 cup white vinegar</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
-1/4 maple syrup </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
- 1 Tbs. <a href="http://www.penzeys.com/cgi-bin/penzeys/p-penzeysparisienherb.html" target="_blank">Parisian blend spice </a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
- 2 Tbs. dill</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
-Paprika</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
-------------------------------------------------------------</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><u>Directions: </u></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
-Make hardboiled eggs! I set a pan, with eggs and enough water to cover them. Then I turn the burner to high and wait for it to come to a rolling boil. Once it comes to a boil, remove from burner, cover, and set timer for ten minutes. After the ten minutes is up replace hot water with cold water from tap. Let eggs cool.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
-Peel your eggs and slice them in half hot dog style. Remove the yolks and place in mixing bowl. To get the yolks out I poke at the egg from the white side and they normally just plop out into the bowl. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
-Remove the flesh from the avocado and place in mixing bowl with the eggs. Add all the spices, vinegar, and maple syrup. Mash up with a fork until everything is combined.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Put yolk mix into pastry bag and fill each egg half with a the mix. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Cook bacon slices until very crispy. Break up into little pieces and stick into the yolk mixture in the eggs. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Quarter the cherry tomatoes and place next to the bacon. Garnish plate with sprinkling of paprika. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Enjoy! Hope everyone has a safe and fun Super Bowl Sunday! </div>

I honestly don't miss bread. Don't tell my family though, I'm pretty sure it's a sin if you're Italian. Sometimes you just want a burger that's not wrapped in lettuce. I played around with a few recipes until I found something that was pretty awesome and delicious. Fair warning, I don't know if I would consider these "healthier" than the regular wheat bun. They're pretty high in fat (but that's pretty whatever when you're not eating any carbs), but they are an awesome Grain Free option. I also somehow picked up the nickname Paleo Buns in the process of making these, thanks brian. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
-Microwave</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
-Baking Sheet</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
-Cooling Rack</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
-2 heaping Tbs. Bacon Fat, melted (saved from the mass amounts of bacon you make during the week)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
- 4 Eggs</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
-4 Tbs. Coconut Flour</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
-A few dashes of salt</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
-2 tsp. fresh spices <a href="http://www.penzeys.com/cgi-bin/penzeys/p-penzeyssunnyparis.html" target="_blank">(I used this) </a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
-------------------------------------------</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><u>Directions</u></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
-Set oven to 350</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
-Mix all ingredients together until completely combined</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
-Grease ramekin and put half of batter in. Should fill ramekin about halfway to leave room to expand. If you're using smaller ramekins, just fill halfway. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
-Microwave for three minutes on full power (this might be different for your microwave).</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
-Flip out onto cooling rack. You might have to run a knife around the sides to get it to release. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
-Repeat for remaining batter.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
-Once all the buns are nuked, using a serrated bread knife, cut the buns in half. It's easiest to go slow and have your hand placed on top of the bun to steady everything. Return them to the cooling rack. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
-Put the cooling rack on your baking sheet and baked the cut buns for about 10-15 minutes until they're just toasted. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
-Take the buns out of the oven and let cool completely. </div>

Last time I talked about the bathroom, I had done literally nothing. That was over a year ago, and I'm still no where near done. I have made a few improvements though! Just to refresh your memories, here's what I started with.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

Overall I'm pretty content with the current state. I'd like to change out the sink and light once my sweet tax return comes in. I'm a big nervous about the sink, since I've never even dabbled in plumbing. Something tells me I can handle it though. </div>

Here in my home, were ice cream people. It was probably one of the harder things to give up, that being store brought ice cream. I can't even tell you how many dates Brian and I have had that ended with a milkshake. I actually received an ice cream maker for Christmas well before we knew we were going to stick with this paleo diet. I've actually gotten a ton of use out of it just creating paleo desserts as well. For the occasional treat this is one of my favorites! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<h4 style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: small;"><u>Ingredients</u></span></h4>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; line-height: 18px; text-align: start;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">- 1 cup full fat coconut milk</span></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; line-height: 18px; text-align: start;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">- 3 Tbsp. lemon juice</span></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; line-height: 18px; text-align: start;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">- 1 1/2 cups of water</span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; line-height: 18px; text-align: start;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">- 1/2 cup of pure maple syrup</span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; line-height: 18px; text-align: start;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">- 1 pint blueberries</span></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; line-height: 18px; text-align: start;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></span>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #222222;"><span style="line-height: 18px;">-------------</span></span></div>

<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; line-height: 18px; text-align: start;"><span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: small;"><u>Directions</u></span></span></h4>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">-Throw everything in the blender and give it a whirl until it's combined. You'll still have flecks of the blueberry skin throughout. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">- Pop into ice cream maker until an ice cream/ sorbet consistency is reached. I have the kitchen aid ice cream attachment and I love it! </span></div>

I'm sharing my first Paleo recipe today, how exciting! While I'm sure I'm not the first person to make coconut encrusted fish, I didn't reference any recipe. This is 100% me just trying to use up what we had in the house before our big shopping day. <a href="http://greatist.com/health/the-ultimate-guide-to-eating-paleo-022012/" target="_blank">For those of you who don't know what Paleo is, here's a great infographic! </a></div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Had a bit of a quiet week this week, although it was much needed. I did go out Friday night and danced, I'm only just recovering. We've had a bit of a warm, but wet, spell here in the Midwest. While it's a nice break from winter it's made with a horridly muddy house thanks to certain pup. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I did work a lot on the shame that is the downstairs closet, but am not quite done. So Far I've managed to fit both brian and mine's pared down wardrobe in, including shoes! I need to install some shelves to take advantage of how tall the closet is. I'd like to be able to fit all my off season/spare bedding in there. But all in due time. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Did you get something checked off to-do lists this week? </div>
