I'm taking part in the Julia Bobbin Mad Men Challenge
It's taken me quite awhile to find a dress to recreate. I didn't want something that look too difficult seeing as I'm not super confident in my sewing abilities at this point. I also didn't want to do something that I thought everyone else would do. I chose this dress Trudy wore for derby day in the episode "My Old Kentucky Home".
I'm going to see if I can fraken pattern something together with a circle skirt and see what I can get! I'm having trouble finding the right print though! I know that the fabric is probably chiffon, but I'm definitely going towards a more poly or cotton kind of road.
So Far these are some contenders.
The second one in with the daisies is my favorite! What do you think?
This will be so pretty. I think its a definite toss-up between the daisies and the bottom row, far right. Can't wait to see this made up.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping my local independent Fabric store has it in stock! I'm pretty excited for the outcome as well! The only thing I'm concerned about is that turtle neck part, I have no idea how to do that!
DeleteOh this is going to be wonderful! I love your fabric choices too; wonderful taste. How exciting. Can't wait to see your dress!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting such an awesome challenge!
