So I've been tearing the house apart ever since we got back from our labor day weekend trip. Let me publicly apologize to my wonderful and loving boyfriend for always "starting crazy projects". Case in point, letting my bedroom turn into this disaster.

Operation "Make the damn bed" starts henceforth.
 Also I'd like to let my small internet following, which I think consists of my friend Anna and my Mother, that I'm setting up a posting schedule!
Anyway, since I've been moving furniture all over the house, and moved my nightstands downstairs, I've made what could be the most ghetto tacky nightstands of all time.

Totally tacky, and yet somehow I'm a little okay with it! Plus I hung the first pieces of art up over the bed. Two black and white photographs of turn of the century workers in cincinnati.

Now to get this room painted white! Ugh, painting breadboard, there might be few things I dislike more.

So I finally got a few things set up in the loft. I got two bedside tables at flea markets, one's already painted white, and ones not yet. They aren't the same, but they both have simliar feels, so it'll be cool.
Also our "desk" is set up. Which is our old dining table, a gate leg table from ikea. So brian can type away for his blog. www.theconwayreport.com . Also, to temporary hold all the dvd's that used to be our nightstands. Eventually I'll have my laptop sitting there, so we can blog IN TANDEM. In this lighting you can see how the walls aren't very white, way more than the previous set. I need to put a second coat in the kitchen though before I worry about anything else paint related. Somehow I've managed to put it off for like a month.


No outlets on the side of the room where our bed works, something we'll have to do soon. Mega tripping hazard when you're as clumsy as I am.



Yah, I know that pillow doesn't match, pillowcase will be replaced soon, don't worry! Also note the dog, on my bed, even though his bed is like two feet away.

So here are the pics of the “progress” I promised. Brace yourselves because I’m not sure if you’re prepared for how underwhelmed you’re going to be. No really, sit down. 

The floors are darker than normal, because I washed them. I’m pretty sure that I’m the first person to wash them, like ever. They’re unfinished so they soak everything up super hard-core.  Maybe some oil will do them good? Also please note my seriously ghetto nightstands. We brought every DVD over because we don’t have the TV here yet, and my laptop can’t play blu-rays. And since I haven’t found the perfect pair yet, cue scary music, they might stick around awhile. Here’s some more views on the loft.   

Check out that beauty of a dog crate. I have no idea where else to put it. For the most part it’s up here because it’s what bowie is used to, and if he sleeps in the crate instead of the bed we like to be able to here him in case somethings up. He’s our baby, so please excuse us being crazy dog people. At least it’s out of the way? Also note the piece of banister wood missing on the right side of the stairway.

Jump for joy, here’s more blah! It’s a start though, and I’d say it’s far better than what was here before. 

See? Starting to feel a little less cave like! If we find time this weekend, I’m thinking the whole loft, ceiling tiles included will be getting a coat of Kilz. Once I have one flesh toned room down I don’t know if I’ll be able to stop!
